The result of the major changes that occurred in various fields of literature in the twentieth century was the emergence of the formalist movement in the field of contemporary literary criticism. Formalism was formed by linguistics influence and it examined the structure and form of literary works regardless to its external contexts, such as historical, social, cultural approaches, and regardless to the influence of the creator's mind, emotion and the imagination. The formalists focused on purely literary realities and sought to provide a principled, scientific, and legal way of criticizing literary works. In the present study, by using qualitative analysis method and by using library studies, we discussed about the structure of one of the Hafiz sonnets and its constituent elements including vowels and consonants, lexical proportions and literary traditions, etc based on formalistic principles such as rule addition, rule deletion, cohesion, harmony and so on. The research findings show that the consonants, vowels, words, and sentences in the intended sonnet have ultimately structural coherence and syntactic which along with the metaphorical, virtual, and semantic language, induce more concepts and emotion of poet and bring the firmness for the sonnet in semantic and structural domains.
