Alamvachini ceremony is one of the ancient ritual ceremonies performed in Shaheshahidan village in Guilan province. However، despite the vehement reception of this event by tourists، the insufficient infrastructure and facilities cannot cater to the tourists’ needs.
The purpose of this study is to identify the factors impacting on the attraction of tourists to this village and on taking part in the Alamvachini ceremony. This is an applied research with a descriptive – analytic method. The study population includes all the event participants out of which a sample size of 322 was calculated according to the Cochran’s formula. Data were gathered through library studies، field observation، and distribution of questionnaires، and were analyzed by Factor Analysis. Results reported the economic factors as the most critical element in the development of tourism in Shaheshahidan village.
At the end، it is proposed that government and private institutions should proceed to invest in tourism، thereby ensuring the survival of the event as a cultural heritage and fostering employment and income in the area.
