The uprising and developments in the Arab world that began with the Tunisian protests ،brought a wave of political، economic and social demands and requests which covered other classes of people and then other countries in the Middle East and North Africa region including Egypt. The uprisings in the Arab world were a historic period for the region and for the rest of the world. The main question of article studies the nature of the recent developments in the Middle East and North Africa. Although the many of researchers have been following for the analysis of these developments in the form of democracy، revolutionary theories ،but in this research we have sociologically tried to analyze these events within the framework of a social movement theory and the fields of the difference between these developments from the foundations of contemporary revolutionary currents. In response to this question ،it seems Alberto Melucci’s new social movement theory regarding the interactive action identity- oriented and can be a useful theoretical framework to examine the nature of the popular movements in the region of the Middle East and North Africa. This paper، in terms of research conditions، is a descriptive-analytical and in terms of goal is a functional study.
