Objectives: Neuron revolution in language theory has opened a new approach to the function and the component of brain and mind and their connection to the physic as well based on cognitive linguistics. According to space words and their location in the image schema which include the spatial prepositions, the present study investigates the representation of spatial prepositions as the space words and non-spatial prepositions in SLI children versus ND children. Although SLI children never represent the learning, sensory or motor disorders, they show remarkable deficits in the use and comprehension of grammatical words, hence this question will be replied through this study, if comprehension and application of spatial and non-spatial prepositions in SLI children would be the same as ND children. Method & Materials: The sample consists of eight SLI children and eight ND peers in control group having the same age and gender. The two groups were investigated using a test of comprehension and application of simple prepositions designed by the researcher. The data were subjected to SPSS and t-test was run on the data. Results: The average degree of comprehension and application of spatial prepositions among SLI children differed from those of ND peers represented the lower average degree. The average degree of comprehension and application of spatial prepositions among SLI children is more than non-spatial prepositions. Conclusion: Since spatial prepositions are the space words, based on cognitive linguistics in confirmation of the non-modular function of the brain, SLI children demonstrated lower deficits in comprehension and production of spatial prepositions than non-spatial ones.
