The Fourth Conference of the Non-Aligned Movement was held in Algeria from 5-9 September 1973. This conference was a watershed for many issues of interest to the non-aligned countries. In addition, this conference was the largest of the Non-Aligned Movement since the 1962 Belgrade Conference. The Conference adopted a policy of combating colonialism in all its forms of imperialism and racial discrimination, eliminating foreign monopolies, and increasing cooperation among the members of the Non- Aligned Movement.
The research answered the question raised in the introduction as it became clear that there is a difference in Egypt's role in the Non-Aligned Movement conferences between the era of Sadat and the era of Gamal Abdel Nasser, who was one of the founders of the movement and prominent leaders who dominated the discussions of previous conferences, but this does not mean that its role was marginal, Sadat tried to keep what Gamal Abdel Nasser made of his place in representing Egypt, which worked at the conference to solve the problems among the non-aligned countries, and refused to give the major colonial powers military bases on the territory of non-aligned countries.
