Masculinity as a form of value, norm and behavior has emerged from discourse relationships to a large extent. The development of virtual social networks in the last decade has provided the basis for the proliferation and alignment of competing discourses of masculinity. Relying on the virtual ethnographic method and semiotic and thematic analysis, we seek to identify the signs of masculinity in the virtual space, the discourses governing them and the relationships between them. The main signs extracted include hegemonic, subordinate, subordinate and marginal masculinity and their sub-signs. The alternative form of active anti-discrimination masculinity with the ideal of gender equality and the bricolage form of new hegemonic masculinity were also recognized, which seeks to combine elements of traditional hegemonic masculinity with newer elements to perpetuate male supremacy. Sankhs were universal and some were local. Iranian men try to combine the elements of their identity in the complex cultural-historical context as well as the existing economic and political structures. Therefore, the hierarchies between types of masculinity, their activism in facing each other and other forms, as well as in facing macro-structures, in the form of power/resistance and tactics/strategy, as well as some of their mechanisms, have become more complex and have become Iranian.
