Imam Musa Sadr is one of the most important contemporary Muslim thinkers in the field of theory and practice. Therefore, it is important to study his social thoughts and, accordingly, its ontological foundations. In this paper, we studied the ontological foundations of Imam Musa Sadr's social thought in his collection of speeches and written using the document analysis method. Sadr considers mankind to have four aspects: an individual aspect that oversees his freedom, a social aspect in relation to other human beings, a community aspect as a part of the universe, and a divine aspect that oversees the role of the divine caliphate of mankind, organizing other aspects. From Sadr's point of view, mankind is the only transformative element in existence and history in the position of God's caliphate. According to him, the system of existence is created and the manifestation of God's good qualities, living and sentient. As a creation of God, the universe is the front of His attributes and moving towards Him. All the components of the universe have a definite role and direction. Also, there are a stable system and the law of causality between them.Creation is in a continuous relationship with God, without whom there is no moment left. Also, it is governed by lawfulness and purposefulness. Sadr considers love as the foundation of life, family as the cell and substance of society and the social relations between families as its form. He considers the construction of society as a product of material and spiritual interaction and exchange between people. Ummah is not a static group, but the result of people's unity in thought and mission, which leads to their unity and cohesion. Also, because of the oneness of God, all creatures are equal in terms of existence. Evil is also a relative matter and the cause of human growth and discretion. Sadr considers the existence of the afterlife to be necessary for the realization of justice. Also considers birth and death for societies, based on rules that, if violated, lead to death.
