Comparative literature is a science that generally examines the relationship between the literature
of one nation and the literature of other nations, and it talks about how the literary works of one
nation are transferred to the literature of other nations, the transfer of literary works is sometimes
in the field of words and subjects sometimes in the field of images and different forms of
expression and human emotions. The story of the turtle and the two ducks was first narrated in the
book Kalila and Demaneh, later Abdul Rahman Jami edited it in the book (The Gift of Al-Harr),
and Ustad Hajar also translated it in Kurdish literature and made changes in it. It was also translated
by the French poet Jean de Lafontaine, who is the pioneer of didactic literature and most of his
stories are from the language of animals. This article has compared two stories with a descriptiveanalytical
method with a comparative approach and clarified that the Kurdish title is the story of
Ostad Hezhar (Raqqa and Marawi), i.e. Turtle and Duck, Ostad Hezhar has used the singular word
"Morghabi". But in the story of Kalileh and Demeneh and the story of Jami Marghabi, the word
Mushani is mentioned (two ducks). It is stated in Kalila and Demeneh that the two ducks wanted
to travel and leave due to the lack of water and dearness, but Ostad Hejar states that because of the
severe cold and hard time, the two ducks decided to go to Garmsir (Qashlaq). It can be said that
Master Hajar has translated the story according to the environment of Kurdistan and adapted it to
the culture there. In the story, Jami did not directly mention the lack of water and extreme heat that
was mentioned in Kalila and Demeneh and that was the reason for their trip, but he mentions that
the times were hard on them and the wheel of life became angry with them and not like the master.
Hajjar did not mention that the reason for the travel of those birds is the harsh winter. Both stories
share the turtle's friendship with two ducks, and when they want to leave, the turtle gets upset and
says you have to take me too, what would I do without you. And in both stories, it is mentioned
that they thought they brought a stick and each of the birds took the end of the stick and the turtle
held the middle of it tightly. In the story of Kalila and Demeneh, it is mentioned that when the
turtle and the ducks flew with that stick, when they were going over the grass and the plains, people
said, look, it is a wonder that two ducks take (or steal) the turtle. The turtle waited a little, but then
he got upset and said: until the eyes of the envious are blinded, but Master Hajjar did not mention
this phrase (the envious will be blinded) and he says that the turtle wanted to say that it was a lie,
they did not attack me, but they are my friends. and fell from that height. In the book of Kalileh
and Demaneh, he states the result of the story in such a way that man dies no matter what he does
and death cannot be prevented and he states that the time of his death had come, that's why he
opened his mouth and from above it fell . But Jami and Ostad Hajjar end the story in a different
way and say that a person should always be careful with his language because it is the cause of the
destruction of a person and they both say that one should not say any word anywhere.
