چکیده:
پنچتنتره در زبان سانسکریت کتابی کلاسیک است درباره حکمت عملی و سیاسی و راه و روش عاقلانه در امور روزانه زندگانی انسانیی، اما داستانها و فابلهای این کتاب با استفاده از هر دو گروه شخصیت های انسانی و غیر انسانی بیان شده است. این کتاب از زمان اولین ترجمه خارجیش به زبان پهلوی در قرن ششم میلادی، به شکلهای مختلف یعنی ترجمه ها، روایت ها و گزیده ها در سراسر دنیا سیاحت نموده است. داستان اولین ترجمه پنچتنتره به جای خود داستانی جالب چون بیشتر داستانها و حکایتهای این کتاب است. در این مقاله روایات اولین ترجمه خارجی این کتاب، قصه ها و جهانگردیش مطرح شده است.
